Osu! – Hitting the rhythm

Well for starters I came across this at complete random. I was browsing around for anime and instead came across a userbar displaying the games name and the users ranking. At first I just glanced at it but then became curious at what the score and ranking meant. Thus I came across the site and the addicting game Osu!

The game is clicking icons as they appear a long with song playing in the background. The game can be seen as a variation to DDR, I guess you can say. The game features a score and ranking system that are sure to keep people intrested if they want to break their way to the top. Another cool feature is that the game itself also has unlockable achievements.

The UI is quite simple, you select a song, and simply follow along with the icons as they appear. You must download all songs yourself and on the site it also tell you the difficulty the song will rank within. Depending on how well timed your clicks were and how many misses will determine your score at the end.

The game also has some cool other games as well. One of which is catching fruit as it falls and another which I haven’t quite tested myself. However those do not have any rankings.

Art Theft

XLR-8 by luminaeus

One of the things I find low in this world is taking another’s work and passing it off as your own. Or better yet making it “seem” like you made them by posting vague information that is interpreted by people opposite of how it should be. What I’d like to know is what exactly runs through the heads of these morons. Do they wish for praise, do they just want to show off, or does it make them think they’re cool?

I myself believe that people who do such a thing are purely despicable. Some one put their time and effort into making something that they are proud of. They did not make it for some dumbass to just come by, take, and slap their name on. But then again look at it this way, people who do that will never produce any real skill or talent in the area anyway.

Some people would say “It’s the internet, get over it” Honestly I don’t give a damn whether it is or not, theft is still theft. Whether it’s done blatantly or done to make people think so without actually saying so.

Anyway this shall end my rant for now, and I shall leave the one that brought upon this rant, nameless, as he’s not even worth mentioning to begin with.

Gundam 00 – Trailers

Gundam 00 Movie 2010

Trailers for the upcoming gundam 00 Movie set for a release this year.

Confirmed gundams

GNT-0000 00 Qan[T]

00 Qan[T] is the successor unit to the GN-0000 00 Gundam, featured in the upcoming movie. The unit is piloted by Setsuna F. Seiei. Its name is derived from the word quanta, the plural of quantum, a measure of subatomic particles. Though the location of its GN-Drives are currently unknown, the 00 Qan[T] is equipped with the Twin Drive System. Also installed on the 00 Qan[T] is a new system, known as the Quantum System. 00 Qan[T]’s blueprint was sent over from Level 7 in Veda by Tieria, along with information about a new Twin Drive System. It comes equipped with a new GN-Sword similar to the GN-Sword III, and it has a binder shaped similar to a “wing” of the 0-Raiser. Attached to this binder are 6 GN-Sword Bits, which are similar to GN-Fangs, except without ranged weaponry. The binder itself can work as a shield.

GN-010 Gundam Zabanya

Gundam Zabanya is the successor unit to the GN-006 Cherudim Gundam, featured in the movie. The unit is piloted by Lockon Stratos. It’s named after Zabaniya, a reference to the 19 guardians of hell in the Qur’an. This mobile suit is equipped with a pair of GN-Pistols, and has two large containers attached to its back. These containers are designed to hold a large amount of weaponry.

GN-011 Gundam Harute

Gundam Harute is the successor unit to the GN-007 Arios Gundam, featured in the movie. The unit is piloted by Allelujah Haptism. The Harute is named after Harut, an angel mentioned in the second Surah of the Qur’an, who were sent down to test the people at Babylon by performing deeds of magic. Its design is more closely based on the GN-Archer, and it is equipped with a pair of bayonet-equipped beam rifles that combine into a large pincer in its mobile armor form, and another pair bolted to the sides of its engines, and is also equipped with a large amount of missiles. The bayonet blades utilized by the Gundam Harute have the same condenser material blades, similar to the GN-Sword III. According to the PG 00 Raiser Genealogy Chart, Gundam Harute incorporates certain armaments similar to that of GNR-010/XN XN Raiser, which are speculated to be melee weapons, and the design was based on the combined Archer Arios.

CB-002 Raphael Gundam

Raphael Gundam is the successor unit to the GN-008 Seravee Gundam, featured in the movie. The unit is piloted by Tieria Erde. Raphael, It is the name of an archangel of Judaism and Christianity who performs all manner of healing and another one of Islam. Developed from GNZ series of mobile suits, the chassis is reused from GN-008GNHW/B Seravee Gundam GNHW/B and shows some similar design elements of the GNZ-series of mobile suits, like the GNZ-001 GRM Gundam and GNZ-003 Gadessa, as well as some elements from the GN-002 Gundam Dynames. Unlike its former units in its series, the Raphael takes after said past unit’s secondary forms (Nadleeh and Seraphim). It is equipped with a large backpack which supports 4 GN Cannons: two resembles a pair of wired claws and two normal ones. It has a green camera on its forehead, which projects its own name, similar to the 00 Raiser. Unlike its sister units, it shows no hint of a secondary form, though it is suspected to have one. According to the Gundam 00 Special Edition II booklet, the Raphael is “wrapped up in many mysteries”.

Fate/Stay Night TV Reproduction and a UBW Trailer

Fate/Stay Night Reproduction OVA

Nothing really new was changed other than the OP. The OVAs were just the whole series brought together with scenes just cut and pasted. Both of the OVAs are a mere 50 minutes each and only contain the main points of the series. Wasn’t really worth watching at all since it contained no alterations at all.

New Unlimited Blade Works Trailer

At the end of the second movie after the credits roll, they seemed to have added a new trailer for the movie soon to be released known at Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works. The trailer can be seen below.

Kowarekake no Orgol

The half broken music box

Well for starters I had no idea this anime was in production let alone existed, seeing as I found no information on it on any of the websites I normally use. But I came across it due to being put up on animetake, which is the place I normally use for direct downloads on recently subbed anime. The episode is a short one shot OVA I believe.

Anyway the evaluation! The anime itself is filled with a sorta of “Happy” theme mixed together with sadness. The OVA is about a man, Keiichiro. At the start he goes by a shrine to take cover from the rain where he discovers a pile of junk, with what looks like a girl in the middle of it. However it is actually old model android called a parents.

He took her to a repair shop to see if she could be reactivated however it seems shes too old of a model to have any parts to work with her. However overnight the girl somehow activates and begins living with him for just a few days. She has problems with her memory so he bought her a book so that she can record everything that happens to her. She saw how Keiichiro sometimes had an expression of loneliness on his face and wishes to put a smile back on Keiichiro. However just after a few weeks of living with him her body starts to begin deactivating, and upon learning of her wish. He took her to the beach and with a smile she shut down permanently.

Gpotato – Aika: CB soon or just another time holder?

Well it seems that gpotato has remodeled the website and forums for a game they will be hosting known as Aika. The game was put up on the Gpotato website quite a lone time ago, specific date is unknown to me.The game is mainly featured around a PvP aspect and is known to have extremely large nation wars, a feature most are looking forward to.

At first the GMs were slightly active but as time passed they were seen less and less. With that it started to piss people off and give most the assumption that it would take ages for it to be released into beta. The GMs only showed up to apologize for their inactivity however after the apology they vanished for a long period of time right after they apologized. It seemed like that process was just going to keep repeating itself.

With today, 1/19/10, it seems that everything may very well get a change of pace and we may be seeing a lot more of the GMs. Of course this was only done yesterday and the GMs with time may very well disappear off the face of the forums yet again. This being said while the lack of inactivity on the GMs part has angered most of the community, if they are truly working as hard as they can on the game and have stable servers as well as translations that aren’t shit, I’d say the community will be more grateful for that.

Anime Lineup – Winter 09/10 Opinions

There is a lot of anime that I have been watching in this lineup however a majority of them are just garbage or just haven’t hit a point yet where I found it enjoyable.

Baka to Test to Shokanju

Well this was one of the main animes I was looking forward to. The anime mixes together both strange animation along with an even stranger plot. The anime is mostly centered inside of a school setting, where the character fight in battles with the use of summoned beings. The attack power of the summons are centered around the last score they got on the previous test before the battle. So far I have watched up to episode to and it seems the main plot of the anime is a fight for a better classroom.

Score : 9/10.

Dance in the Vampire Bund

This is another one of the animes I was looking forward to this season. The manga was excellent which is why I have been looking forward to this for a while. As of right now the anime and it’s manga counterpart are on a slightly diffrent track but aren’t straying to far from one another, right now at least. The first episode seems to have been some sort of pre episode to most people and I really can see why.

The first episode bored me to tears and it seemed like nothing more than a troll episode. However with the second episode it got much better. With the manga it jumps right into the story however it seems the anime is doing  little explaining beforehand. I have my fingers crossed that shaft will continue to keep this anime on the right track and continue doing well with it.

Score : 8/10

Last but not least on my list of great animes this season is the epic Durarara!! To be honest I wasn’t really expecting to much from this anime before hand but with each episode I’m pulled more and more into this. I’ve only seen up to episode two and I’m not exactly familiar with the full plot or what is really going on. Episode one was mostly an introduction of the characters, might I add some insane one. There is also a cardboard stand of haro cameo in the episode as well. With episode two it was mainly a story of a female who has dropped into despair and wanting to commit suicide. All in all the anime has great animation, a great story, and very interesting characters.

Score : 9/10
